I have one of the littlest back yards in my neighborhood, but I mostly get glowing reviews from neighbours and visitors to my home because I'm huge into back yard landscaping, and you do not have to put a heap of cash into it to make your yard into something gorgeous. The lot that my home is on is about a half an acre, though it was split into 2 by the prior owner for a garage studio in the back. He made a decision to put a privacy fence halfway between my place and the garage residence, so my back yard is fundamentally a quarter of the dimensions of almost all of my neighbours' yards. This has been a problem in many ways. I can't have a dog, and there's not a ton of room for my youngsters to play, but it in addition has been a blessing in that back yard landscaping is made a good deal less complicated as there is not as much area to cover. I started by planting a garden between my fence and path, which was about an one-foot tract of dirt. I planted flowers in that area, and now it is maybe the most colourful area of the whole yard and it makes the yard smell great.

I then made a walkway of pea gravel that curves in a semicircle the length of the back yard and out to the fence that leads to the front porch, thru that gate, and out to the front porch where it stops at my drive. This makes my other half ecstatic, because I do not track mud into the house when I am taking the rubbish out. The following step for me was one of the basic components of back yard landscaping, which was to plant grass. The yard had just about none when we first moved into the house. Now, the whole back yard is covered with thick Bermuda grass. I planted some banana trees in one corner and started a little plant garden along the opposite fence of the flower garden that I planted, and acquired some 2nd hand grass furniture, including a bench and two tables with umbrellas. I made the sole costly purchase when I purchased to fountains for the yard.

If you exclude the fountains, the remainder of the back yard landscaping potentially cost less than $200, and it is ten times better than when I first moved in. It not only looks better, but it's also healing to work diligently at something similar to that and see the final result, particularly when your back yard all of a sudden becomes the envy of all your neighbors. Back yard landscaping is something that may be done with any size yard, and I defy any person to put some sort of effort into it and not feel a certain sense of satisfaction at the final result.
